MS-Excel

Entering Numbers

As we mentioned earlier, when numbers are entered in a cell, they will automatically be displayed in the right side of the cell. Also, numbers will be displayed in a specific format (e.g. 56.54). If you wish to modify the number of decimal places or to change the currency format, you will have to use another command. We will explain that later in the lesson and how to modify the appearance of numbers in a worksheet.

Enter these numbers in the cells indicated:

B3 = 15.99

C4 = 89.50

D4 = 4.85

E4 = 16.45

When you enter the value 89.50, the zero will not be displayed since Excel automatically rounds off values ending in zero.
