Freezing
pane are used when you want to see or compare different
parts of a spreadsheet. Freezing pane allows you to
scroll through one half of the pane while other remain
half remains static.
Keep row and column labels visible as you scroll
· To freeze the top horizontal pane, select the row
below where you want the split to appear.
· To freeze the left vertical pane, select the column
to the right of where you want the split to appear.
· To freeze both the upper and left panes, click the
cell below and to the right of where you want the
split to appear.
· On the Window menu, click Freeze Panes.
· A dark line will appear showing different panes.

Paste
Special Command
Instead of copying entire cells, you can copy specified
cell contents - such as the cell format or the result
of a formula, but not the formula itself - with the
Paste Special command in Microsoft Excel 2000. You
can also switch data from columns to rows and vice
versa. Let’s see an example but before that create
a woksheet sales with the following data

Select the cell C6 which is containing a formula “sum(
C3: C5)” and copy the content by using Edit menu or
press Ctrl + C
· Click the cell C6 or whereever you want to paste
the information.
· Open the Edit menu and select Paste Special or Right
click and select Paste special from the shortcut menu.By
default All option is selected in the paste list.

Select Formula to copy only the formula of the cell.
· Highlight Values to copy only the outcome of the
formula you copied into the cell and not the formula
itself.
· Select Format to copy just the format of the cell
(font, alignment, and so on).
· Choose Comments to copy only an notations for the
cell.
· For this example select Formula and click OK. Same
way choose other options and see the difference.
Do not press Enter after you click OK. If you do,
you’ll copy the cells within the moving border to
the paste area. To cancel the moving border, press
Esc. When you copy comments, the copied comments replace
any existing comments in the destination cells.
Switching Rows of Cells to Columns or Columns to
Rows
· Select the cells in the second row as shown in the
figure.

Open the Edit menu and select Copy.
· Select a cell outside the copy area.
· Open the Edit menu and select Paste Special.
· Select the Transpose check box.

Click OK, you will get the following result.
