Hyperlinks

underlined text or a graphics that represents a link to a location in a file on a network, a local disk or the internet. When you click the hyperlink the location that is specified by the hyperlink opens.

Create a hyperlink to a new file.

· Create a worksheet as shown in the following figure

· Select the cell C3, and then Right-click , Choose Hyperlink from the shortcut menu.

· Under Link to, click Create new document.

· Type a name for the new file in the Name of new document box.To specify a location other than the one shown under Full Path, click Change and then select the location you want. To asign a tip to be displayed when the cursor points the hyperlinks use Screen tip buton, if you are not providing a screen tip then the location of the link will be displayed as screen tip. If you don’t want to edit this new page immidiately the choose Edit this New Document Later in the When to Edit option. By default Edit the new document now is selected After you have selected the appropriate options click OK.

· If you have selected Edit the New Document now then a new window will be opened with the new document.

Hyperlink to an existing file

· Follow the same procedure as in the previous example, now Under Link to, click Existing file or Web page.

· Do one of the following:

To select the file from a list of files you have recently used, click Recent Files and then click the file you want to link to.

To select the file from a list of existing files, click the File button under Browse for, and then locate and double-click the file you want to link to.
