Whenever
you use a new program, you will need help to better
understand a particular function. With Excel,
you need to click on the Help menu and you
will get different options as shown in the figure,

Microsoft Excel Help ( F1 ) : To get the help
on a topic just click on the this option. If the Office
Assistant is turned on, it appears. If the Assistant
is turned off, the Help window appears. Helpwindows
provide three tabs.
Answer
Wizard : To get a answer of a question, type a
question in the Help window, and click Search
Content
: Use this to scroll through a table of contents
for Help.
Index
: Use this when you want to search for specific
words or phrases.

Show Office Assistance : It will display office
assistance.
¨
What’s This : To see a ScreenTip for a
menu command, toolbar button, or screen region, use
this option. Use this option by following these steps.
1)
Click on the what’s this option on the help menu.
2)
Click the item you want information about.

To see a ScreenTip for a dialog box option,
click the question mark button
in the dialog box, and then click the option. (If
you don’t see a question mark button, click the option,
and then press SHIFT+F1.)

View names of toolbar buttons : Just rest the
pointer over the button until the name appears.
