Fireworks

Edit Stroke Dialog Box

Fireworks allows you to fine tune your stroke through the use of its Edit Stroke Dialog Box.  You can access it by double clicking on the Tip Preview Window or using the Stroke Panel Pop Out Menu.   If you prefer to use a graphic tablet when you design you can use this dialog box to modify the pressure sensitivity settings for your pen in addition to a broad range of brush settings.  Try experimenting with the various settings.

Saving a Modified Stroke/Brush

No matter how many changes you have made to a Stroke, Fireworks will reset it back to its default setting when you restart the program. If you would like to use a custom Stroke in multiple documents you must save it. You can do this by accessing the Stroke Panel Pop Out Menu.

The Save Brush As Dialog Box will appear prompting you to input a name. Give your brush a name and {Click} on the "OK" button. If you check the Stroke Name drop down menu you will find your custom stroke listed there available for use with any document you choose. The Stroke Panel Pop Out Menu also allows you to edit, rename, and delete a stroke if you wish.

Below you will find examples of two different stroke settings.
