Web
development is a time consuming endeavor. A truly
outstanding website usually represents weeks, if not
months, of planning, design, development, and highly
unglamorous grunt work. At the same time, many web
projects are client based and run according to strict
schedules and stringent deadlines. The nature
of the business puts the designer in a tough position. They
have to create dynamic and interesting content and
they have to have it done yesterday.
In
order to deal with these constraints the designer
must not only be disciplined and able but also thoroughly
acquainted with the tools that they use. You
can teach yourself the basics of any program but,
unfortunately, much of this knowledge and ability
can only be acquired through trial and error and countless
hours of practice with the software. Who knows
how much time can be saved by using keyboard shortcuts
instead of multiple mouse clicks? It would serve
you well to familiarize yourself with any time saving
features your development program has to offer. Less
time spent navigating the Help Menu is more time
spent getting the project done.
Fireworks
has many features that make the designer’s life a
little easier. One of these features is the Library Panel.
