The
clipboard is a temporary storage space in computer
memory
|
|
|
|
When
would I use the clipboard?
|
|
|
|
When
you cut or copy data, it is place into the clipboard.
Switching off the computer clears the clipboard.
Each time you cut or copy, data previously stored
on the clipboard is removed.

|
|
How
do I use the clipboard?
|
|
|
|
"Cut"
or "copy" to place data into the clipboard. "Paste"
to insert data from the clipboard.
|
|
|
|
Windows
98 and Windows 95 provide the Clipboard Viewer program
to perform a few simple operations on data stored
the clipboard.
|
|
|
|
Start
the Clipboard Viewer:
|
|
|
|
1. Click
the "Start" menu.
|
|
2. Click
"Programs" on the Start menu.
|
|
3. Click
"Accessories," then "System Tools" on the sub-menus
|
|
4. Click
"Clipboard Viewer."
|
|
|
|
Save
the temporary data in the clipboard to a permanent
file:
|
|
|
|
1. Click
the "File" menu in the Clipboard Viewer
|
|
2. Click
"Save As…" on the File menu.
|
|
3. Type
a name with the clipboard extension (.CLP) and select
a folder.
|
|
4. Click
"OK."
|
|
5. Use
the File menu "Open…" command to open previously
saved clipboard files.
