Files can be set as hidden so they are not visible. Some system files are marked as hidden, for example

Find files that are not visible: (Windows 98)

1.     Click the "View" menu, and then "Folder Options" (Windows 98) or "Options" (Windows         95).

2.     Click the "View" tab.

3.     Click the button by "Show all files" under Hidden Files

4.     Click "OK."

Change file attributes so it is not hidden:

1.     Right-click a file.

2.     Click "Properties" on the menu that appears

3.     On the General tab, click the box by "Hidden" so that there is NO checkmark.

4.     Click "OK."
