Loading Programs or Files

Programs and files can be loaded (started or opened) from within Windows Explorer.

How do I load programs from within Windows Explorer?

Load a file or program based on its file extension:

1.     Click the "View" menu, and then "Folder Options" (Windows 98) or "Options"         (Windows 95).

2.     Click the "File Types" tab.

3.     Click "New Type" to create a new extension and specify which program to be         used to open the file.

4.     Click "OK."

5.     Double-click a file with the specified extension to open it in the designated         program. (For example, a file name with extension "BMP" opens with Microsoft         Paint.)

6.     Double-click a program to start it.
