Inserting a Page Break

Normally, a page break is inserted automatically when you reach the bottom margin of a page. If you wish to insert a page break before you reach the bottom margin, simply press CTRL ENTER. Make sure your cursor is located in the right spot in your text before you insert a page break. If you insert a page break in the wrong place, simply press this button to cancel the command.

Exercise 2

Make the following changes to Exercise 1:

  • Select the part of the text starting with "Giovanni da Verrazzano" and ending with "our discoveries".

  • Move this text to the end of the document.

  • Insert a blank line after the text ending with "cannibals..."

  • Insert an "r" in the word "Fance" to spell "France."

  • Insert an "n" in the word "Newfoudland" to make the word "Newfoundland."

  • Replace the word "last" with the word "first."

  • Overwrite the word "our" with the word "his."

  • Delete the letter "s" in the word "somewheres" in the last sentence.

  • Delete the word "nasty."

After making the above changes, your text should look like this :

We owe the toponym Acadia to a Florentine who served the king of France and who died somewhere in the Caribbean, eaten by cannibals...

Giovanni da Verrazzano was the first European to navigate and explore the North American coast from Florida to Newfoundland. At least, he was the first to have left us an original account of his discoveries.
