Line Spacing

The space between the lines, i.e. line spacing, can be modified in the entire document or in a specific block of text. You can determine the line spacing before typing your text. If you do, the line spacing you choose will be applied to the text you type until you select another line spacing value. Once text has been typed, you can select a text block or part of the document and select the line spacing you wish.

To change the line spacing in a text, use the following procedure:

Select the Paragraph option in the Format menu. The following dialogue box will appear:

Identify the type of line spacing you want by clicking in the box below Line Spacing At. You can choose from the following types of line spacing:


Single :

Inserts a line spacing a little larger than the size of a character.

1.5 Lines :

Inserts a line spacing equivalent to one and a half times the size of a character.

Double :

Determines a line spacing twice the size of a character.

At least :

Specifies a line spacing that will be adjusted according to the type of text, i.e. superscript or subscript.

Exactly :

Inserts a fixed line spacing, whatever the size of the characters.


Click on the OK button to accept the change in the line spacing. The change in line spacing will be performed for the selected text or starting from the location of the cursor, if no text has been selected.
